Delarue Nursery School is situated in a picturesque, semi-rural area of Tonbridge close to several primary schools. The Nursery School is attached to an attractive barn style building, and is easily accessible with a large car park. We have a secure and safe garden that we use every day – rain or shine! Children help to plant and care for vegetables and flowers that are grown throughout the year.
We are open between 9.00am and 3.00pm Monday – Friday (term time). The Nursery is registered with Ofsted for 22 children per session and we accept Government Nursery Funding. We offer morning, afternoon and all day sessions and provide a lively, varied learning environment for children aged 2 to 5 years. We have consistently achieved “good” in our Ofsted Reports.
We have two classrooms, with 8 younger children in the downstairs room and 14 older ones upstairs. Our small classes allow us to build close relationships with children and parents. Two members of staff work in each class, with extra members of staff to support special needs as necessary.
All staff are qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and we bring a range of personal skills, experience and interests into Nursery. We have an extremely low turnover of staff, the majority having been with us for over five years. We all attend training courses and strive to extend and update our knowledge of early years at all times.
We liaise with local schools and invite teachers into Nursery during the summer term to meet the children before they leave us and move onto reception class.
